These Friday College Football Games Are Critical
These are the ranked teams vying for a spot in the College Football playoff.
Boise State Should Have it Easy This Week
The Boise State Broncos aren't just 10-1 Straight Up this season, they've won their last nine games.
While No. 11 Boise State’s spot in the Mountain West Championship game has been secured, the team's fate in the College Football Playoff still hangs in the balance as the Broncos host a scrappy Oregon State on Friday.
They're actually 1-2 in the last three games against Oregon State but were dogs in those two losses. Not to mention the last time these teams faced off against one another was two years ago. The Beavers did win but this season's team is a mere shell of itself, having won just five games.
Boise State should walk away with the victory here as a -18 favorite, but do they cover?
Remember, this game is Friday night.
Mississippi State @ Ole Miss
The Rebels had hoped an Egg Bowl win would be a ticket to the playoff and perhaps the SEC championship game. Then they lost 24-17 at Florida. Ole Miss does get one last chance to make its case for the playoff and then hope for help. The rivalry means a lot in the Magnolia State regardless. Mississippi State has dual goals of snapping an 11-game SEC losing streak dating back to last season and avoiding its first winless league season since 2002.
Ole Miss should win this one easily as a -26 point favorite.

Giant Killers Georgia Tech Look for the Big Prize
The Yellow Jackets August 24 win over Florida State was more shocking at the time than it really was in retrospect. FSU just isn't a very good football team this season.
But Miami is.
And Georgia Tech beat the Canes 28-23 just two weeks ago.
The Bulldogs will look to protect its College Football Playoff ranking and extend its six-game winning streak in the state rivalry called Clean Old-Fashioned Hate. The Bulldogs also will try to extend their 30-game home winning streak that began in 2019 and is the longest active streak among FBS teams. Georgia Tech will try to claim its first win over the Bulldogs since a 28-27 victory in Athens in 2016.
Georgia is an -18 point favorite here.
